What types of cars do you have available?

For now we rent out only Suzuki Jimny's 4x4 SUV's. As a small owner-run car rental company in Namibia, we are hands on with our approach and manage a small fleet so we can give you that personal service. These compact 4x4 hires are affordable, reliable and fun and can reach most of Namibia's wild places. (Namibia's Mars landscapes for sure

can i rent a vehicle without camping gear?

Absolutely. Namibia has an diverse collection of affordable camps, gorgeous lodges, wild tented camps and even a variety of Air Bnb's - and if you want to splurge, treat yourself to stays in the most devine suites. You can rent our vehicles in Namibia without camping gear, but still rent extras for your journey. Check out our Extra list for inspiration or email us for special requests.

can you help us with accommodation?

For now our priority is to make sure that your wheels to adventure are ready for your arrival. However, for a small fee you can purchase our little insider book of How to Travel Like a Local which contains a list of our favourite stays with contact details, scenic picnic spots, romantic locations where you can propose, safe hangouts for solo travelers, where to eat like a local, what unique experiences you should try out like kayaking among seals.

We do recommend that you always book your accommodation well in advance, especially when travelling during the more popular seasons when many of the best places (camping and lodges) are booked out months in advance. It's your holiday, you should never settle for second best. Also note that wild camping next to the road is prohibited.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Yes, one week. Even that is too short to explore our lovely country and our recommendation is that you dedicate at least 10 days to a road trip around Namibia to see some of the highlights. We offer extended car rental discounts if you rent the vehicle for 21 + days.

Are there other restrictions on the car rental in Namibia?

  1. Everybody age 23 and older can rent our little Jimnys that could.
  2. You need a valid driver's license in English, credit card for security deposit and your passport.
  3. An overnight on arrival in Windhoek is recommended, if you arrive after 12h00 (noon). You need time to familiarize yourself with your vehicle and allow for a few hours shopping for essentials (shops may close early on some afternoons or during weekends) and prepare accordingly. Pls contact us should you wish to receive your vehicle later than recommended.
  4. Due to current airport regulations, we cannot deliver or collect rental vehicles at Windhoek/Hosea Kutako International Airport.  Namibia doesn't have Uber or Lyft, but we suggest you contact Lefa, the closest to Uber you can get. (https://lefa.com.na/)

Are there any discounts or promotions currently available?

We offer extended rental discounts if you rent the vehicle for 21 + days. Contact us to find out what discounts would apply.  Also consider travelling out of the mad season - the annual high demand season of July to October means that premium rates apply, but visit Namibia any other time and you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised with the best deals not only on your car hire, but often on accommodation too - and Namibia has sunny weather year round, so don't assume that peak season is necessarily the best season.

What insurance is included in the rental cost?

Standard 3rd party insurance is included in your rental (excess is NAD35,000) but Reduced Excess waivers at an additional daily rate are available. (LTN's terms and conditions apply).  A security deposit/hold on card to the value of the excess based on insurance waiver selected will be reserved on collection of the vehicle (VISA).  This will be refunded upon return of the vehicle if it has been returned in same condition (cleaned and without noted damages) and refuelled.

Can we take the NAMIBIAN rental vehicle across borders?

At this stage our vehicles are restricted to be used in Namibia only.
